December Empties

- Skyn Iceland Skin Hangover Kit
- Smashbox It's A Wrap Make-up Remover
- Agent Provocateur Eau de Parfum Spray
- L'Oréal Paris Ever Riche Shampoo
- Soap & Glory Heel Genius
- Benefit Hello Flawless Powder in toasted beige
- ESPA Refining Skin Polish
- Clinique All About Eyes
- Rimmel Sexy Curves Waterproof Mascara
- Murad Osmolyte Tonic
- Yes to Carrots Cleansing Wipes

As you can probably tell from my empty products, December for me was a month of heavy make-up, sensual scents and fizz free hair. Out of this month's empties there are only a few that I would repurchase as I found a lot of them to be a bit meh in all honesty. I prefer to use make-up remover as oppose to remover wipes but I found the Smashbox one left my skin slightly greasy afterwards so I would use a wipe to get rid of any residue. I love the Yes To ranges as they use mainly natural ingredients and are cruelty free meaning they are so gentle on the skin. The ESPA refining skin polish is THE best exfoliator I have tried and I cannot live without this, its seriously life changing and if you haven't tried it, I suggest you get your hands on some and quick. I found the toner kept my skin hydrated but isn't the best toner I have tried and same for the eye cream which didn't seem to do anything for my eye area apart from keep it hydrated. The shampoo kept my locks smooth, silky and nourished and I absolutely love the sulphate free formula - but more on that at a later date.

Jewellery Box Gold Set

Accessories can be added to an outfit to make them more versatile and polished. Jewellery is my favourite accessory but with so much choice on the high street and online, it can sometimes be difficult to find affordable pieces which compliment my outfit. At the bloggers ball back in September I was lucky enough to meet the fabulous ladies from Jewellery Box with their amazing enchanted forest display and receive a beautiful yellow gold set* which I have not stopped wearing.

Jewellery Box is an online retailer stocking beautiful real jewellery at very affordable prices. They have a vast range of sterling silver and 9CT gold pieces for you to chose from, none of which will break the bank. In my beautifully wrapped little package I received a delicate gold infinity necklace* and a pair of gold pull through earrings*. Both pieces are dainty and simple, adding the perfect finishing touch to my everyday outfits.

I would highly recommend checking out Jewellery Box if your looking for a gift for someone or even for yourself. They have so many different designs to chose from and jewellery for special occasions such as weddings or birthdays. There really is something for everyone! Plus who doesn't love this adorable packaging.

Clarins Christmas event

Last Friday me and a couple of the Southampton bloggers girls made our way down to the Clarins get together held in John Lewis Southampton. The event was a chance for Clarins to showcase their Christmas collection and skin care favourites. After checking in we made our way to the food court in John Lewis where were greeted with a glass of bubbles and a festive mince pie to get us in the festive spirit.

Before the demonstration started there was a chance to go round and try out the different stations set up including complimentary hand and arm massages, skin analysis, complexion perfection hints and tips as well as a competition to find the perfect pout. I tried out some of their gorgeous body care range including the Body Treatment Oil in Tonic and the Tonic Body Polisher which smell absolutely gorgeous. I also tried some of the treatment fragrances which they have to offer with my favourite being Eau des Jardins where you can really smell the citrus tones including grapefruit. Next we had a quick lip exfoliation treatment before picking our favourite lipstick and trying to get the perfect pout - Jess was lucky enough to win this in the end.

Next we moved onto the demonstration where Me, Jess and Alice all volunteered to take part in the demonstrations. First they displayed a range of their skincare items including the Water Comfort One Step Cleanser, Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, the award winning Double Serum and a different selection of their daily moisturisers. They demonstrated the Super Restorative Day Dream and Total Eye Concentrate on me which is aimed at rejuvenating and replenishing anti-ageing and reducing wrinkles. Next up they created three make up looks 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes. Alice was the 5 minute look where they used the bb cream as a light base applied with fingers to speed up the process, with a blusher to highlight the cheekbones and a quick coat of mascara, finishing the look with one of their instant light perfecting balms. Overall a very quick and easy, no fuss, no make-up, make-up look. Next up was Jess where they focused on a smoky eye look using three shades again all applied with the fingers. She built up the colour using the lightest shade first adding more of the darker shades towards the outer half of the eye and then blending with the fingers. They then finished the look with a strong brow using their eyebrow pencil which is a dual ended tool perfect for shaping and taming the brows.

Finally was the 15 minute look where she used the Everlasting Foundation in shade 114 Cappuccino which was a perfect match for my skin and left a glowy and dewy finish. She then used the Instant Light Brush on Perfector in Number 2. You can use this to highlight the cheekbones, brow bones and all over the face and this also works as an illuminating concealer. Last up was contouring where she placed a simple bronzer on the hollows of my cheeks, side of my nose, forehead and under the chin and then used a large fluffy blusher brush to blend. She finished the look with one of their new lip liners which match your skin tone so you can put any colour on top followed by one of their new Joli Rouge lipsticks in a gorgeous Autumnal berry shade.

Next up we made our way downstairs to have a quick shop before they announced the raffle. I actually picked up the Instant Light Brush on Perfector because I loved the way this highlighted my skin and the Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner. They had a free gift with purchase where you could chose 4 samples so I chose the one-step gentle exfoliating cleanser, water comfort one-step cleanser for normal or dry skin, a mini of the Joli Rouge lipstick in shade 705 soft berry; and a mini of the blush prodige in shade 02 soft peach. Unfortunately I didn't win the raffle but the prizes were worth up to £155 so I bet they were incredible and the winners were so lucky. Overall the evening was very eye opening and Clarins is definitely a brand I will be using more of now that I have had a proper introduction into their make-up, skincare and fragrances.

Have you tried any products from Clarins?

Cohorted October Box

When Cohorted launched their beauty box everyone and anyone raved about them and every month I painstakingly tried to get my hands on a box but I always seemed to miss out by minutes! This month I managed to get my hands on the October box before it sold out and they introduced their new subscription service. I have to say for £19.99 this box is well worth the value but at a nail biting £35 I am not sure if the new subscription service is for me so I will be keeping my eyes out for reviews from the first few months before I make any rash decisions.

This month's box contained:

- Bare Minerals Purely Nourishing Cream £10
- Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die for Mascara £15
- Ciate Nail Polish in Serendipity £9
- Bare Minerals Purifying Facial Cleanser £15
- Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Hypnotist £16.99

Bare Minerals is a brand quite new to me as I have only tried a couple of their mineral powders and that is pretty much it however, I am nearly out of my current Malin + Goetz cleanser so I will be giving this one a whirl as soon my current one runs out. The lipgloss is a vibrant, holographic peach colour which looks absolutely stunning in the bottle and I absolutely love that when your wearing this it can appear purple, coral, peach and gold all at once. As for Peter Thomas Roth I didn't even realise they did make-up but I have been a long time lover of their skincare so I can't wait to give this a go and see if it really does lengthen and volumize like it claims. Overall with the box value at £65.99 this was a steal and I love the variety inside the box with something for everyone. I am quite disappointed the subscription service has changed but I'll be keeping my eye out and maybe in the new year I will treat myself.

What do you think of the contents of this month's box?

Bloggers Festival with Scarlett London

Back at the beginning of September I was lucky enough to attend the Bloggers Festival organised by the lovely Scarlett London. After attending Scarlett's last event back in April myself, Karis and Alice decided that we couldn't miss out on another. After a quick pitstop at Pret, and a well overdue catch up outside the National Gallery, we made our way down to the Conrad St James in London ready for an afternoon of nattering, nibbling and networking.

We were greeted on arrival by the lovely Scarlett herself and after being checked off the gigantic list of 250 bloggers we made our way into the main exhibition area. First stop was the magical enchanted forest display from Jewellery Box which was absolutely breathtaking. Complete with a little rickety bridge, the display really showcased the gorgeous jewellery available with something fitting to everyone's tastes. We made our way slowly around the room stopping off at the Perfume Shop who had a wonderful doll's house display showcasing some new releases and the most fashionable cupcakes I have ever seen, Nanshy who had the most gorgeous display of all their brushes to try out and play with, and Cloud Nine showcasing their sleek new white straightening iron which is simply gorgeous.

There was a good variety of brands ranging from fashion to beauty to lifestyle and even the tastiest Caribbean condiments (with the most divine sweet chilli dipping sauce EVER). It was nice to see a mixture of familiar brands such as Bonprix and Bee Good as well as being introduced to some new brands such as Brodie & Stone, Exuviance, Yours Truly Organics, Yoogia and Small Man Media. There were networking tables laid out with the sweetest pic'n'mix display in the middle of the event and Mode Media had a lounge area where they were on hand offering advice on tips on how to develop your blog further.

All of the brands were so generous offering individual goody bags on top of the amazing tote bags filled to the brim put together by Scarlett as a thank you to for attending the event. These lovely totes sponsored by Life Tonics were branded with the slogan 'blogging is thirsty work' - which it really is, so after a quick stop at the refreshing fruit infused water station we made our way back into the bustle of London ready for an evening of dancing and far too many cocktails.

Scarlett's events are some of my favourites as I always meet tons of new bloggers and there are so many amazing opportunities. Make sure your following Scarlett L Events on twitter to keep up to date with any upcoming events: I know I'll be keeping an eye out for the next one.

September Empties

This months empties consists of:

- Yes to Cucumber Soothing Hypoallergenic Face Wipes
- The Body Shop Peppermint Soothing Pumice Foot Scrub
- Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
- Philip Kingsley One More Day Dry Shampoo
- Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel
- Benefit Its Potent Eye Cream
- Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
- Monu Illuminating Primer
- ESPA Refining Skin Polish
- Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara
- Oriflame Beauty Wonderlash Mascara
- ESPA Hydrating Floral Spafresh
- Vichy Idealia Life Serum

I've been trying to use up as many samples and half empty bottles as I can at the moment because I seem to have products coming out of my ears! When I first started blogging I didn't really use many new products and stuck to what I knew but now I am a lot more experimental and love trying new things so I've been using even more out of my overflowing draws. Out of this little bunch there are a couple of items I have back ups of for when they run out including both ESPA products and the Monu primer! I think the ESPA skin polish is my favourite exfoliator ever as it is quite gentle but leaves my skin feeling brightened and revitalised. The Monu primer creates the perfect base to apply foundation and creates a very dewy, glowy look which I have loved during the summer months and the Oriflame mascara is quite possibly the BEST mascara I have ever used I honestly cannot believe this has been discontinued. My favourite out of this little bunch has to be the Prince Charming Shower gel which smells absolutely divine...I am praying Lush bring this back next year in their Valentines collection...they would be silly not to!

Ibiza Style Diary

Its safe to say holiday blues have well and truly sunk in!! After a week of sunning myself in the beautiful White Isle my gorgeous tan and my high spirits are slowly drifting away: even with the sunshine following me back to dreary England. I planned to take a full lookbook whilst I was away and boy did I pack for such an occasion but once I got there relaxation kicked in and I decided to enjoy the break and not worry about my blog or anything else really and so the explanation for the lack of pictures. I really found my motivation once I was away and now that I'm back I'm more motivated than ever so you can expect to see a lot of me over the next few months. Anyway back to reminiscing here's a few snaps of some of the outfits I wore when I was away..enjoy!

Lace up detailing was huge over summer and slowly took over my wardrobe so it's not really a surprise this made an appearance on my holiday. I love this bodysuit from Miss Selfridge it is so easy to style and I can get away with wearing it with just about anything. The paisley Topshop shorts are just so dreamy these were such an impulse buy but the shape and colour really flatter my body-shape. Next up is the bargain of the century £10 H&M dress which I am OBSESSED with! Teamed with my favourite Topshop lace up sandals - which I pretty much lived in - this was my go to beach outfit.

As you can tell crop tops and short is standardly what I wore out every night but I liked how girly I felt in this floral lace number. I've had these shorts for months now and I'm amazed at how good they look when they were only £7 in the New Look sale. I LOVE this hamsa mesh print dress from Missguided and I am so gutted I don't get to wear it more often. Teamed with a plain cut out swimsuit its perfect in the hot weather and I'll definitely be sporting this on a night out with a long cami underneath come Winter.

Another big trend this Summer was elephant was absolutely everywhere and if you don't own anything with a cute little elephant printed on it then you seriously missed out. This was another Missguided bargain which I managed to pick up in their sale and I have worn the death out of it since the day it arrived. Finally a bit of glam for the legendary Ocean Beach Club where I teamed this sunset cut out one-piece with a Missguided tassel kimono with the only downfall being the dodgy tan lines I developed after!

Look Fantastic 1st Birthday Beauty Box

I can't quite believe it's been a year since Look Fantastic launched their first beauty box and with each month being full of top brands and generous samples I knew this wasn't one to miss! Each box is priced at £15 including postage and contains a minimum of 6 products with a good mixture of well known brands and newer discoveries. This month the extra special box includes 8 travel size treats and an extra £40 worth of vouchers including a saving of £10 on all ghd stylers. My box contained:

- Phyto Phytokeratine Extreme Cream Conditioner (30ml)
- Professional Sebastian Shampoo and Conditioner (50ml each)
- Bliss fabulous foaming face wash (30ml)
- Tanworx Tan Maintainer (60ml)
- Codage Paris Scrubbing Cream (25ml)
- Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet (10ml)
- Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum (10ml)

A good mix of brands that I have heard of before and some I've been wanting to try for a while now so I'm pretty smug. Plus the added bonus that this box arrived just before my holiday so all my travel essentials are covered and all for the bargain price of £15. The tan maintainer will be the most used as I plan on tanning a lot and anything to help keep a golden glow is welcome with loving arms. The Professional Sebastian Penetraitt haircare range is strengthening with an active rescue system which gently detangles hair whilst rebuilding any split ends which is right up my street and just what I am looking for at the moment. Another brand I have been wanting to try for ages is Bliss and this gentle foaming wash is a 2-in-1 cleanser and exfoliater which is a perfect combination which will help speed up my routine. The icing on the cake and perhaps the most exciting for me are from French skincare brand Caudalie. I am yet to try a product I do not like from them and I have tried several of their serums before which I absolutely love - these have gone straight in my bathroom and I'll be trying them tonight!

I have to say this is probably the best beauty box Look Fantastic have released and I love the generosity of each sample and the variety of products. The September box is still available here although at the moment Look Fantastic have a promotion where if you spend £55 you receive one of this month's beauty boxes for free...what are you waiting for?

Esqido BFF Lashes

False lashes and me have a love hate relationship: sometimes it can take me seconds to apply and they can look so natural and flattering and other times I end up with my eye half glued shut and eyeliner all over the place. Because of this struggle I gave up on false eyelashes a long time ago, and I haven't looked back since until these little beauties dropped through my letterbox.

Esqido false eyelashes are ethically sourced from the softest and finest naturally shed mink hair. The handcrafted soft cotton band allows for easier application than synthetic lashes and the real mink fur allows for longevity, comfort and a much more natural finish. I opted for the BFF lashes* which are medium volume and retail for $35.  With proper care these lashes can last up to 25 uses which is an absolute steal at that price. Synthetic lashes are designed to be disposable and can become quite expensive when only using a pair once when your paying £10 a pop. I love the idea of a reusable, good quality, natural pair of lashes which I can wear casually during the night and glam up for a night out.

The first time I tested the lashes was during the #SotonMeetUp and I couldn't quite believe how naturally they looked and how comfortable they were all day. I received compliment after compliment about my lashes and its safe to say I felt a million dollars. Since then I have worn them on nights out, dinner dates and even to business meetings and every time they just give me the little confidence boost I need. For a clutz like me they are so easy to apply and seem to be holding up very well after several uses.

I would fully recommend trying out Esqido if your a big lashes fan they are perfect for all events, big or small and can be dressed down or ramped up making them suitable for all occasions. They ship free to the UK and postage is super fast usually arriving within five working days. They also have some amazing benefits including their referral programme where you can earn $10 credit for every friend you recommend who makes a purchase, and they receive $10 credit towards their first purchase...a win, win for everyone! Plus who doesn't love rose gold? - The packaging of these lashes is utterly divine and fit for a queen.

Have you tried Esqido lashes?

#SotonMeetUp Revs

As you may have seen if you follow my social media, last month I attended the #SotonMeetUp organised by the lovely Alice and Amy. This is the fourth event organised by the girls and ever since attending their first event last year we have pretty much become inseparable. The venue for the fourth event was the newly refurbished Revolutions in Bedford Place where we made our way up to the second floor where we had the Stoli bar all to ourselves. Slowly but surely all 40 bloggers descended on the bar ordering a mixture of cocktails, mock-tails and 2-4-1 pizzas. I opted for the Superfruit Nojito which as far as mock-tails go is the BEST I have ever tasted!

The reason why I love these meet ups is because they are so laid back and really give everyone a chance to mingle and catch up. There's always a mixture of familiar faces and newbies but everyone is so welcoming and friendly and its always nice to have a good old natter with a like minded bunch of girls. There were 3 brands exhibiting at the event: Out Come the Wolves who were showcasing their gorgeous fashion collection including some fabulous lace bralets, ESPA offering individual skin consultations and skincare advice and Hairfinity who were showcasing their hair vitamins whilst running a competition for who can braid the fastest whilst blindfolded...its safe to say my attempt was a massive fail.

After making the rounds the nattering continued over mini tubs of Jude's ice cream and the most divine cupcakes from Love Cake Bakery washed down with some more delicious cocktails. Full of sugar and excitement we all gathered as the raffle began. We managed to raise an astounding £350 for the Epilepsy Society which is close to both the girl's hearts and couldn't be more of a deserving cause. The girls really pulled it out the bag when it came to the raffle prizes with a ton of amazing prizes from the likes of Benefit, Clinique, Revolutions, West Quay, Sensationail and Esquido. I managed to pick up some Revolutions vouchers which I am looking forward to using to try out more of their delicious menu with the girls.

The girls should be extremely proud of what they have achieved as the day was perfect and the best event I have been to by far. I look forward to the next one as I know this will only be bigger and better. If you want to keep updated on any future events in the Southampton area make sure you give them a follow on twitter @sotonbloggers
