#SLBLOGGERBASH

This post is now well overdue on my little blog but I've been working such crazy hours at the moment I've barely had time to sleep let alone blog but I'm back and I have so much to show you guys. So last month myself, Alice, Karis and Chantelle made our way to London for the #SLBloggerBash hosted by Scarlett London and Search Laboratory. Although I have attended numerous events and meet up's over the last year, I have never made it as far as London town and so a mixture of nerves and excitement greeted me on the morning of the event.

The event was held at One Alfred Place which is not too far from Tottenham Court Road Tube Station so after a pit stop at Nando's we slowly made our way to the venue. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely Scarlett herself and Alice from Search Laboratory. There were refreshments and canap├ęs circling the room and a host of different brands with individual stalls including fashion brands, beauty, lifestyle and travel.

First stop on our agenda was the wine tasting competition with Tuscany Now and its safe to say we failed miserably: wine is definitely not my forte ha! Next up we made our way around the various fashion brands including Wynsors wellies, Modern RugsQuiz Clothing, Urban Outfitters and Bonprix. We also participated in bloggers boules which again was not my forte ha (there isn't much that is) before settling on the sofa ready for the winner of the bake sale to be announced so we could all dive in. All of the entries looked AMAZING but the winning oreo cupcakes were to die for and after trying all the sweet treats I found myself in a cake induced coma.

After making our final rounds and being lucky enough to win one of the group goodie bags on offer from Urban Outfitters we made our way back into Camden for an afternoon of cocktails and blog photos. All in all I had a wonderful time at the event and now I've got the first one out the way, hopefully I will be more confident in mingling and talking to people at the next! Thank you Scarlett and Search Laboratories the event could not have gone better and I look forward to the next one!

Suede Button Through Skirt

It's been a long time since I posted a style post but after several wardrobe changes and a lot of awkward posing (as you can clearly see above) I decided to wing it and have another go at some personal style type posts. As you may have seen on my social media I recently attended the #SLBloggerBash which was a blogging event in London organised by the lovely Scarlett London in collaboration with Search Laboratory. I'm afraid you will have to check back in a few days to find out what I got up to on the day and how I found my first London meet up, but for now back to my wardrobe choices.

To say that I own a lot of clothes would be the understatement of the century and its safe to say I do not have a shortage of options to chose from. But more often than not I find myself staring into my jam-packed wardrobe panicking that I have absolutely nothing to wear and this day was no different! The sun was shining but I wasn't sure how reliable the weather was going to be and I had a long day of travelling ahead of me so after several changes I finally landed on this little ensemble.

Suede has made a serious comeback this year popping up here, there and everywhere and I am absolutely loving this new season staple. Although I am not really a big skirt lover, I have found myself drawn to the variety of different suede skirts popping up all over the high-street and this little A-Line number was no different. Although this is the priciest suede addition to my wardrobe its 100% worth the investment: the quality is outstanding, the fit is near on perfect and the colour is absolutely beautiful. I wanted the skirt to be the main focus of the outfit so I teamed with a simple striped cami and sleeveless blazer perfect for these transitional months where the weather chops and changes every two minutes. To finish I teamed with a simple red lip and my trusty little black ankle boots which I have lived in the last few months, the final look is stylish yet comfortable and perfect for a long day.

Smashbox Contour Sticks

2015 is definitely the year where the beauty world has gone contour crazy! Palettes and contour sticks are popping up all over the high street and the counters and with such a wide variety to chose from, it can be vary hard to find the perfect product. I have tried my fair share of palettes and kits which have mainly been powder based products but I was yet to find a product I completely got along with until the day this set arrived in my life courtesy of my good friend Mandy who recently picked this up for me during a recent trip to Florida.

This step-by-step trio contains three cream sticks in a cool toned contour shade, a warm bronze shade and a matt highlight shade. The set contains a sharpener and full instructions detailing how to contour depending on your facial shape, making this the perfect set for beginners as well as experts. Each stick is designed to mimic perfect lighting on the face with the contour made to sculpt the face by creating shadows, the bronze to eliminate harsh lines and provide a smooth transition and the highlight to mimic light reflection and pull the features forward.

The sticks themselves allow for super easy application as you just literally draw where you want the product and blend out. The formula of these sticks is so, so creamy and they blend out to perfection leaving a much more defined, flawless finish to your make up. Although they are very pigmented they blend out so seamlessly that they are easy to build up depending on how defined you want your look and they last fairly long after setting with a powder. The packaging is so sleek and travel friendly, making these perfect to pop in your make up bag and take away with you. I have tried a similar product before in the shape of the Tarte Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer however I found the shades to be far too orange for my skin tone and the formula of the sticks themselves did not agree with my skin.  The shade range in this trio compliments my skin perfectly and this has fast become a product I am reaching for daily and cannot be without! Although I prefer to use a highlight with more shimmer, I prefer using the cream stick during the day to highlight my under eye area.

My overall verdict is this trio is ideal for myself and the shade match if perfect on my skin tone. I would highly recommend this kit to beginners or anybody struggling with powder contouring as I did. The sticks are now available in the UK from the Smashbox website or from Boots so make sure to check them out next time your browsing the counters.

What contour products are you loving at the moment?

Sephora Haul

Last month my good friend Mandy from One Slice of Lemon visited Florida with her husband for a few days and I asked her to pick me up a few bits from Sephora whilst she was away. The majority of the items I wanted were either brands which are not sold in the UK or are not available to be shipped to the UK from the Sephora website. So after cutting down my never ending wish list and changing up my pennies into dollars I patiently waited to receive my bag full of goodies.

Lets start with the Butter London Nail Apothecary which was one of the items on my list but unfortunately this was sold out in the store Mandy visited. However I managed to pick this up on ebay a few weeks ago and I am so, so happy with this set. Inside are six travel size lacquers all with different nourishing treatments for the nails to repair, hydrate, protect and strengthen nails. This is the perfect set to try out all the different treatments before splurging on the full size lacquers allowing me to keep my nails in tip top condition at all times. Next on my list were a couple of perfume rollerball's which unfortunately are not available in the UK and I literally have no idea why. These are so easy to pick up and throw in your handbag to freshen up throughout the day and I got the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rollerball Set and a gorgeous floral scent from Estee Lauder which will be perfect for Summer.

Sephora are renowned for their travel size and mini products available and every time I've visited a store I always find myself filling up my basket whilst queuing for the checkouts. These cute little minis cannot be shipped to the UK and after picking up the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Travel Size Liquid Lipstick in Icon and falling in love, I wanted to try Canvas, which is a dusty pink shade. I also have wanted to try the Clinique bottom lash mascara for ages now and as this is slightly cheaper in the States I popped one of these on my list as well.

Contouring is something I have started doing more and more often and after using mainly powder based products I wanted to try something with a more of a cream base. When browsing the Sephora website I stumbled across the Smashbox Contour Stick Trio and I just knew I needed to try these out. Lets just say it was love at first use and I have a full review coming on Saturday so stay tuned. Another contouring product I have heard a lot of hype about is the Kat Von D Shade + Light Palette containing three contour shades and three highlighting shades. The shades are all quite cool toned which I personally prefer but are buttery smooth and so easy to blend, I would 100% recommend this as the best contour palette I have tried so far...and trust me when I say I have tried a fair few.

Fresh is a brand that I have tried before and I absolutely love their Sugar Lip Treatments owning a fair few of these shades already. I wanted to try the more nude shades in this range so I picked Honey to try out and I love this as much as the other shades I own. These are perfect for daytime wear as they provide nourishment all day whilst adding a flush of colour to the lips. Finally a brand that I have seen all over Youtube for skincare is Peter Thomas Roth but with the extravagant price tag attached to some of the products I have always been unsure about splurging. The Mini Mask Magic Kit is the perfect way to try some of the most popular masks from this range with three generous samples of the Cucumber Gel MaskRose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask and the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. Im looking forward to trying the Pumpkin Mask tonight so I'll let you know how that goes.

Have you picked up anything up from Sephora recently?

Festival Place Blogger Meet-Up

Just over a month ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a bloggers meet up in Basingstoke at the Festival Place shopping centre. The event was held at the Giraffe restaurant and upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely Naomi and other members of the Festival Place Team and then given time to mingle with the other bloggers over some gorgeous nibbles and light refreshments. We took our seats and the afternoon began with a brief introduction from Naomi about who they are and the work they do and any upcoming events they are planning.

Next the floor was handed over to personal stylist Melissa Murrell who runs Styling by Melissa Murell. She talked us through the different body shapes and we paired off and measured each other to work out our own body shapes. I was quite surprised to find out I am a strawberry body shape as I have always believed I had quite a boyish frame so this was quite exciting. Melissa then talked through some tips on how to dress for each body shape including what to avoid and how to accentuate our figures to create the illusion of an hourglass frame.

After the talk was more time for mingling whilst the lovely ladies from Shear Beauty popped over offering free pamper sessions including manicures. We were then all lucky enough to be gifted two amazing goodie bags: one from Festival Place supported by retailers such as Costa Coffee, Lush and Hotel Chocolat and another by Shear Beauty supported by Lord & Berry, Rusk Haircare and Wet Brush. After the event myself, Alice, Jessica and Jess went and looked around a few shops before grabbing a quick coffee and heading our separate ways home.

A big thank you to Naomi and Sarah and the rest of the team at Festival Place for putting on such a unique and interesting event and I look forward to any future events.

Cackleberrys Coffee House

On Friday me and some of my blogging girls popped over to Fareham to visit our good friend Amy for a long overdue catchup. After grabbing some lunch and a quick shopping trip we made our way to this gorgeous little brasserie and coffee house to grab some tea and cake and have a good old natter. First impressions were breathtaking: is this not the cutest, most instagrammable coffee house you have ever seen?! We were all snapping away taking in the delightful surroundings debating over which cakes to try and lusting over the incredible interior.

After much deliberation I opted for the gluten free Victoria sponge, Karis decided on the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake and Alice chose the lemon meringue pie. We all tucked in and it was smiles all round as our tastebuds were extremely satisfied by what we chose. I'm glad I only opted for the one slice but I could have easily ordered about ten after seeing the choices on offer.

The brasserie also offers a selection of made to order savoury food which is available to eat in or take away alongside a variety of different alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately this time we were all too full to check out the savoury options be we have already decided we need to book a table to revisit this adorable little eatery and trial some more of its incredible menu. After studying the vast variety of pies, pastries and quiches on offer, there are some scrumptious options available and I look forward to trying some of these next time we visit.

Make sure to check out their twitter and Instagram pages and if your ever in Fareham be sure to pop and pick up some delicious treats.

Shop the Stash: Pamper Evening

If you read my Birthday Wishlist you would have seen that I have put myself on a beauty spending ban. My stash is completely out of control: I have so many products I am yet to try out and that need using up that I simply can't justify any new purchase at the moment! I am undecided about when the ban will end basically until I have things more organised and controlled and actually make use of everything I have because as I said there is a lot of products I am yet to try. Sundays tend to be my day off and so in the evening I like to have a bit of a pamper session giving me a chance to relax and unwind and try out some new products while I am at it.

Luxury Lush Pud is one of my all time favourite bath bombs I absolutely love Ylang Ylang and Lavender and together I find them so relaxing and calming. Possibly THE most exciting Lush bath bomb I have used with a rainbow of colours swirling out creating a rainbow in the bathtub. The oils left my skin super soft and the shimmery purple/pink colour left once the bomb has finished fizzing is fit for a princess. Sadly these are only released over the festive period but luckily I have a couple to last me the year!

The Andrew Barton S.O.S Help Me! Twice a Week Treatment Mask smells absolutely divine...its like a sweet butterscotch kind of scent that isn't too strong on the hair after rinsing out the mask with just a slight hint of sugary goodness left lingering. My hair is mainly damaged from the use of heat as I don't really dye my hair too often but I blow dry and straighten my hair an awful lot. The mask is said to restore vitality to the weakest most damaged hair whilst softening and smoothing. The formula is quite thick and you apply it to the lengths and tips of the hair, making sure to massage every last drop into the hair. The sachet size is very generous and contained more than enough for my lengthy locks. I have to say after washing this out I could instantly feel how much softer my hair was and once fully dried it is incredibly soft to touch. My hair overall looks more full and radiant with a healthy shine to it. I am impressed with the results after just one use and will definitely be picking up some more products in this range to try out.

GLAMGLOW Youthmud™ Tinglexfoliate Treatment is a 10-minute mud mask boasting professional quality and a whole list of amazing outcomes. This is one of those cult products I always see hype about but unfortunately is way out of my price range, however I was lucky enough to receive a sample in a beauty box last year which I had completely forgotten about until today. Now I wouldn't say I have bad skin at all but I suffer from oil congestion around my nose and dry, dehydrated, dull looking skin. The mask itself you apply in a thin coat covering your face and then leave for about 10 minutes to harden and dry. You can tell when the mask is mainly dry as it changes colour to a light grey/white kind of colour. I did experience a tingling sensation in my face when this was on and once parts of the mask began to dry I found my face become very tight but nothing uncomfortable and overall the mask was cooling and calming (below is a beautiful selfie of myself wearing the mask).

After washing this off I could immediately see the difference in my skin: it looked clearer and brighter and even had a natural glow to it that I have rarely seen before. My skin felt incredibly smooth and soft, with all the fine lines and bumps evened out and dramatically reduced. Even now as I am writing this hours later my skin still feels as smooth as a baby's bottom...its incredible! I can 100% see why this has such a high price tag attached to it as it is by far one of the best face masks I have tried. I'm sure between me and my Mum it won't be long before a purchase is made.

Have you tried any of these products?
