July Favourites

July for me came and went with the blink of an eye! It was by far my busiest month of the year with festivals, family get-to-gethers and a lot of birthdays and I still can't believe its finished and we have now moved into August...before we know it Christmas will be here and 2015 will be over!! This month my crazy schedule meant I was often out all day and so I stripped back my daily look to the bare minimum. Although I didn't have much time to play around with my new palettes and perfect the perfect wing, I did have time to rediscover some old favourites of mine and added a couple of new things to the list of 'I now can't live without'.

Urban Decay is quickly becoming one of my favourite brands as I am slowly adding more and more to my collection and trying out more and more of their products. I've always loved their eyeshadows and last month I picked up the Naked Flushed Palette which I had seen raving reviews for absolutely everywhere. This is a compact threesome of bronzer, highlighter and blush in silky pressed powder form which all leave the skin glowing and flawless. Mine is in the shade Streak which seemed most suitable for my skin tone and I have pretty much used this on a daily basis. I've found the best way to apply is using the Double Ended Brush which is perfect size for this little compact. The angled side is perfect for blush and bronzer and the other side is perfect for highlighting.

A girl can never have to many lipsticks and I am yet to meet a girl who disagrees with this statement. This month I opted for the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss, Nudes Collection in No. 48 which after seeing all over my twitter and Instagram I knew I had to get my hands on one! The shade 48 is the perfect 'my lips but better' shade and is the first formula and shade I've really loved: plus the fruity smell is just an added bonus. I also picked up one of the Clinique Pop Lip Colour's in Berry Pop as I haven't tried any of the Clinique lip products before and I am yet to read a bad review about these lipsticks. I love the velvet finish of these lipsticks combined with the vibrant colour payoff, longevity and hydrating formula they really are a winner and I will be checking out the rest of the collection to see what colours I need next.

Next up are two rediscovered favourites: Giorgio Armani City Glam For Her and Montagne Jeunesse Buriti Fruit Body Smoothie. I remember years ago I received a bottle of City Glam for Christmas from my Mum's best friend and I fell in love with the seductive scent instantly only to find out several months later it had been discontinued. Since then my Mum managed to track down a bottle for my birthday and I am eternally grateful to her as I couldn't live without this perfume in my life. The Buriti Body Smoothie is something I picked up on a whim a few months ago and when it first arrived I was very unsure on the texture however since the weather has warmed up I have preferred a lighter moisturiser and the fruity smell is perfect for the summertime.

Recently I've noticed I have allergies developing to certain foods and that my eating habits themselves are in fact disgustingly unhealthy. As well as trying to figure out exactly whats causing the problems I needed some motivation to find myself and my love for cooking again which is where Madeleine Shaw's Get the Glow comes in. This book is the perfect solution with an easy to follow six week programme, tons of wheat and sugar free recipes and practical guidance to adjusting your lifestyle to a more healthy way of life. I have only tried a handful of recipes but I find myself already choosing healthier options and making small adjustments as Madeleine has made the programme so realistic and do-able that I feel more motivated than ever before. If your not into these fad diets and simply want to develop a healthier lifestyle like myself I would highly recommend you pick this up!
