Jewellery Box Gold Set

Accessories can be added to an outfit to make them more versatile and polished. Jewellery is my favourite accessory but with so much choice on the high street and online, it can sometimes be difficult to find affordable pieces which compliment my outfit. At the bloggers ball back in September I was lucky enough to meet the fabulous ladies from Jewellery Box with their amazing enchanted forest display and receive a beautiful yellow gold set* which I have not stopped wearing.

Jewellery Box is an online retailer stocking beautiful real jewellery at very affordable prices. They have a vast range of sterling silver and 9CT gold pieces for you to chose from, none of which will break the bank. In my beautifully wrapped little package I received a delicate gold infinity necklace* and a pair of gold pull through earrings*. Both pieces are dainty and simple, adding the perfect finishing touch to my everyday outfits.

I would highly recommend checking out Jewellery Box if your looking for a gift for someone or even for yourself. They have so many different designs to chose from and jewellery for special occasions such as weddings or birthdays. There really is something for everyone! Plus who doesn't love this adorable packaging.

Clarins Christmas event

Last Friday me and a couple of the Southampton bloggers girls made our way down to the Clarins get together held in John Lewis Southampton. The event was a chance for Clarins to showcase their Christmas collection and skin care favourites. After checking in we made our way to the food court in John Lewis where were greeted with a glass of bubbles and a festive mince pie to get us in the festive spirit.

Before the demonstration started there was a chance to go round and try out the different stations set up including complimentary hand and arm massages, skin analysis, complexion perfection hints and tips as well as a competition to find the perfect pout. I tried out some of their gorgeous body care range including the Body Treatment Oil in Tonic and the Tonic Body Polisher which smell absolutely gorgeous. I also tried some of the treatment fragrances which they have to offer with my favourite being Eau des Jardins where you can really smell the citrus tones including grapefruit. Next we had a quick lip exfoliation treatment before picking our favourite lipstick and trying to get the perfect pout - Jess was lucky enough to win this in the end.

Next we moved onto the demonstration where Me, Jess and Alice all volunteered to take part in the demonstrations. First they displayed a range of their skincare items including the Water Comfort One Step Cleanser, Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, the award winning Double Serum and a different selection of their daily moisturisers. They demonstrated the Super Restorative Day Dream and Total Eye Concentrate on me which is aimed at rejuvenating and replenishing anti-ageing and reducing wrinkles. Next up they created three make up looks 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes. Alice was the 5 minute look where they used the bb cream as a light base applied with fingers to speed up the process, with a blusher to highlight the cheekbones and a quick coat of mascara, finishing the look with one of their instant light perfecting balms. Overall a very quick and easy, no fuss, no make-up, make-up look. Next up was Jess where they focused on a smoky eye look using three shades again all applied with the fingers. She built up the colour using the lightest shade first adding more of the darker shades towards the outer half of the eye and then blending with the fingers. They then finished the look with a strong brow using their eyebrow pencil which is a dual ended tool perfect for shaping and taming the brows.

Finally was the 15 minute look where she used the Everlasting Foundation in shade 114 Cappuccino which was a perfect match for my skin and left a glowy and dewy finish. She then used the Instant Light Brush on Perfector in Number 2. You can use this to highlight the cheekbones, brow bones and all over the face and this also works as an illuminating concealer. Last up was contouring where she placed a simple bronzer on the hollows of my cheeks, side of my nose, forehead and under the chin and then used a large fluffy blusher brush to blend. She finished the look with one of their new lip liners which match your skin tone so you can put any colour on top followed by one of their new Joli Rouge lipsticks in a gorgeous Autumnal berry shade.

Next up we made our way downstairs to have a quick shop before they announced the raffle. I actually picked up the Instant Light Brush on Perfector because I loved the way this highlighted my skin and the Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner. They had a free gift with purchase where you could chose 4 samples so I chose the one-step gentle exfoliating cleanser, water comfort one-step cleanser for normal or dry skin, a mini of the Joli Rouge lipstick in shade 705 soft berry; and a mini of the blush prodige in shade 02 soft peach. Unfortunately I didn't win the raffle but the prizes were worth up to £155 so I bet they were incredible and the winners were so lucky. Overall the evening was very eye opening and Clarins is definitely a brand I will be using more of now that I have had a proper introduction into their make-up, skincare and fragrances.

Have you tried any products from Clarins?

Cohorted October Box

When Cohorted launched their beauty box everyone and anyone raved about them and every month I painstakingly tried to get my hands on a box but I always seemed to miss out by minutes! This month I managed to get my hands on the October box before it sold out and they introduced their new subscription service. I have to say for £19.99 this box is well worth the value but at a nail biting £35 I am not sure if the new subscription service is for me so I will be keeping my eyes out for reviews from the first few months before I make any rash decisions.

This month's box contained:

- Bare Minerals Purely Nourishing Cream £10
- Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die for Mascara £15
- Ciate Nail Polish in Serendipity £9
- Bare Minerals Purifying Facial Cleanser £15
- Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Hypnotist £16.99

Bare Minerals is a brand quite new to me as I have only tried a couple of their mineral powders and that is pretty much it however, I am nearly out of my current Malin + Goetz cleanser so I will be giving this one a whirl as soon my current one runs out. The lipgloss is a vibrant, holographic peach colour which looks absolutely stunning in the bottle and I absolutely love that when your wearing this it can appear purple, coral, peach and gold all at once. As for Peter Thomas Roth I didn't even realise they did make-up but I have been a long time lover of their skincare so I can't wait to give this a go and see if it really does lengthen and volumize like it claims. Overall with the box value at £65.99 this was a steal and I love the variety inside the box with something for everyone. I am quite disappointed the subscription service has changed but I'll be keeping my eye out and maybe in the new year I will treat myself.

What do you think of the contents of this month's box?

Bloggers Festival with Scarlett London

Back at the beginning of September I was lucky enough to attend the Bloggers Festival organised by the lovely Scarlett London. After attending Scarlett's last event back in April myself, Karis and Alice decided that we couldn't miss out on another. After a quick pitstop at Pret, and a well overdue catch up outside the National Gallery, we made our way down to the Conrad St James in London ready for an afternoon of nattering, nibbling and networking.

We were greeted on arrival by the lovely Scarlett herself and after being checked off the gigantic list of 250 bloggers we made our way into the main exhibition area. First stop was the magical enchanted forest display from Jewellery Box which was absolutely breathtaking. Complete with a little rickety bridge, the display really showcased the gorgeous jewellery available with something fitting to everyone's tastes. We made our way slowly around the room stopping off at the Perfume Shop who had a wonderful doll's house display showcasing some new releases and the most fashionable cupcakes I have ever seen, Nanshy who had the most gorgeous display of all their brushes to try out and play with, and Cloud Nine showcasing their sleek new white straightening iron which is simply gorgeous.

There was a good variety of brands ranging from fashion to beauty to lifestyle and even the tastiest Caribbean condiments (with the most divine sweet chilli dipping sauce EVER). It was nice to see a mixture of familiar brands such as Bonprix and Bee Good as well as being introduced to some new brands such as Brodie & Stone, Exuviance, Yours Truly Organics, Yoogia and Small Man Media. There were networking tables laid out with the sweetest pic'n'mix display in the middle of the event and Mode Media had a lounge area where they were on hand offering advice on tips on how to develop your blog further.

All of the brands were so generous offering individual goody bags on top of the amazing tote bags filled to the brim put together by Scarlett as a thank you to for attending the event. These lovely totes sponsored by Life Tonics were branded with the slogan 'blogging is thirsty work' - which it really is, so after a quick stop at the refreshing fruit infused water station we made our way back into the bustle of London ready for an evening of dancing and far too many cocktails.

Scarlett's events are some of my favourites as I always meet tons of new bloggers and there are so many amazing opportunities. Make sure your following Scarlett L Events on twitter to keep up to date with any upcoming events: I know I'll be keeping an eye out for the next one.
