Travelling has always been very high up on my agenda but due to financial restrictions unfortunately its always taken a back seat. Last month marked the final payment to my student overdraft officially making me debt free (apart from my student loan) and after a rather large make up splurge, I’ve started saving ready for all the adventures I intend to have. I’ve compiled a list of my top 10 travel destinations I would like to visit in the next few years, and although some of these aren’t very adventurous, these are all places I’ve been wanting to visit for a while now.
Berlin is such a beautiful city full of so much history and incredible architecture. Although I have visited Berlin before this has only ever been for a couple of days at a time and there is literally so much more that I would like to see. My next visit will consist of lots of different museum visits, a walking tour of a concentration camp, a tour of the Reichstag (German Parliament Building) and dinner in the revolving sphere restaurant in the Berliner Fernsehturm.
Ever since my first flight to Florida when I was 12 I have spent years and months planning the perfect trips around the different countries of the world. If I could pick anywhere I have to say Venice would be in my top 3 as I find the whole idea of traveling around by gondola so fascinating and magical. The Carnival of Venice falls on my birthday next year and it would be a dream come true to attend a mysterious masquerade ball for myself and be swept off my feet.
It was the trilogy by Philip Pullman back in my teenage days which sparked an interest in the Northern lights for me. Combined with the photos seen of my work colleagues trip last year and its safe to say Iceland has fast become high up on my bucket-list. The geothermal blue lagoon spa looks spectacular and like something out of a fairytale which I can’t imagine seeing even in my wildest dreams.
The capital of Italy and the capital of the Roman Empire and full of beautiful, historic buildings from over 2000 years ago. Rome is the city of art and culture with so many architectural sites to see including the Colosseum, St Peter’s Square and the Vatican. Rome is full of so much incredible history and who wouldn’t wanna try their luck at eternal life by throwing a coin in the Trevi fountain?
Santorini is well known for its beautiful sunsets, towering cliffs and whitewashed villages which are completely breathtaking! Mix this with its incredibly clear waters and the fact it looks like a living postcard and it makes for the perfect romantic getaway. I’ve been subtly hinting at the other half for months now..fingers crossed it eventually works because this place is literally made of dreams.
