This Valentine’s weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to a makeover courtesy of Urban Decay at House of Fraser in the Oracle. The event was a speed-dating style makeover with three sections set up for us to work our way around: eyes, lips and base. Upon arrival we were greeted by Lauren, the fabulous Sophie, Bradley and Peter and of course glasses of fizz while we had a little snoop and waited for everyone to arrive. Urban Decay was founded in 1996 when Wende Zomnir teamed up with Sandy Lerner and they began their quest for bold colours. The brand are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and its safe to say they have obtained serious cult status within the beauty industry.
I started off at the eyes station with Sophie where she created the most gorgeous spotlight eye by creating a dark brown smoky eye and then adding a glitter eyeliner to the centre of the lid. The finished look was incredible and I absolutely loved it (the picture does not do it any justice). Next up was the base station with Bradley where he prepped my skin using the B6 prep spray and then colour matched me to the Naked foundation. I finally got to test out the Naked concealer which I have read about a million good reviews about- and lets just say it was love at first sight with such a weightless and buildable finish. He finished my look with a powder foundation to mattify the skin and then a highlighter and bronzer from one of the Naked flushed palettes. Overall my skin looked flawless and everything used on my face lasted for hours afterwards!
Unfortunately I did not make it round to the lips station as time ran out but I will certainly be heading back to the counter to check out the lipsticks as soon as I get paid. Urban Decay is up there in my favourite brands of all time, if not my favourite! I loved being able to have a little play around with some bits I’ve had my eye on for a while and its safe to say my wishlist is getting way out of hand now. If you haven’t checked them out before, make sure you book in at your local counter for a free makeover and to check out everything they have to offer.
A big thank you to Lauren and the guys at Frank PR for organising such a lovely evening and to both Hotel Chocolat and Urban Decay for the bits gifted to us on the evening which I cannot wait to use.
