Is anybody else struggling with festive blues right about now or is it just me? With the prospect of returning to work looming and the fridge slowly emptying, its safe to say Christmas is well and truly over. Christmas is without a doubt my favourite time of year for many reasons, but first and foremost is for the quality time I get to spend with my loved ones. For me it’s not about the gifts or the food(well maybe a little about the food), its all about the people sat around the tree sharing this wonderful day with me.
I am so overwhelmed with every single one of the gifts I received this year, my family and Gavin went above and beyond anything I was expecting. I know some people hate these kind of posts but I myself love reading them as I’m nosy AF so I thought this year I would partake. So without further ado here’s what I got for Christmas this year!
As you can see most of my presents this year were beauty related. My lovely boss gave me a hand cream set from The Body Shop and the cutest pack of mini highlighters with animal faces on. I literally do not go anywhere without hand cream. It is my number one handbag staple no matter how small my bag so I always need a good back up. I am also obsessed with stationary so I am absolutely made up with both of these gifts. My friend got me this beautiful Molton Brown cracker which has 4 divine shower gels inside and the Huda Beauty lip contour set which I am super excited to try as everyone raves about her liquid lipsticks. Gavin also picked me up a set from Huda Beauty which is the Winter Solstice collection alongside the most beautiful brushes I have EVER seen from Tarte. He also picked me out this stunning geode coaster from Anthropologie which I have had my eye on for forever (boy he knows me so well). I also received two perfumes: my Grandma got me the DKNY MYNY perfume which is perfect for everyday and my parents got me a bottle of Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black which is my ride or die and recently became available to buy in the UK which I am thrilled about!
Gavin absolutely blew me away with everything he got me this year and I was so grateful for everything he got me. Since we’ve moved I’ve struggled to find storage for all my make up and beauty products. I wanted to set up some kind of vanity in the bedroom but we are short on space and I have no idea where to begin. He bought me a gorgeous Beautify pink and rose gold vanity case and a vanity mirror with light bulbs all the way round to start me off and I am absolutely made up with both pieces. I haven’t pictured the vanity here as its currently a complete mess as I organise everything but I am planning on doing a separate post once its done so look out for that it the new year. He also got me a portable record player which is something that I have wanted for years and a vinyl wall clock from Budapest with their Parliament building painted on which is the perfect little addition for our new flat.
My parents got me a gorgeous Calvin Klein set of pyjamas and a Ted Baker dressing gown which is so soft and luxurious and has been my staple for the last few days. My little brother picked me out some lush bath bombs and a little bottle of spiced vodka as well as a Star Wars Cats 2018 calendar which is equally adorable as it is hilarious. My best friend also got me some lush goodies and a Urban Decay illuminator which I absolutely adore and lastly a lady from work gave me a gorgeous chenille bobble hat which is actually one of my favourite presents. I picked up a new hat from Primark recently but its so tight around my head I can only wear it for about 30 seconds before it cripples my ears with pain whereas this one is super-soft. I am loving chenille at the moment so this was a welcome addition to my winter wardrobe.
Finally I participated in the #ukbloggersecretsanta2017 which was organised by Francesca and my gift was from the amazing Suzana who went with a cat theme and I absolutely love everything. I got a fabulous pom pom cat pencil, some gorgeous little cat ear-rings which I have been wearing since Christmas day, some cat socks and this nifty grip which you attach to the back of your phone. Hopefully this will help me stop dropping it as much but I won’t get my hopes up too much…I am a complete clutz through and through.
I hope you enjoyed reading this and make sure you leave the link below if you posted the same as I love having a nose at what other people got.
