It’s been a long time since I shared a post like this so today I thought I would share what’s on my current reading list. Back in January I signed up to the Goodreads app and set myself a goal of reading 50 books this year. So far I am not doing as well as I would’ve hoped and I have only read 8 books so I have now set myself a goal of reading for 30 minutes each day. Recently I’ve picked up some new titles that I am really excited to get stuck into so I thought it was about time I posted the third instalment in the series (you can check out my previous posts here and here).
The Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarty – After finishing Big Little Lies I have been on a mission to pick up the rest of the author’s catalogue as I absolutely love her style. In my last trip to the Oxfam bookshop I managed to pick up this and Three Wishes which both look like interesting reads and I cannot wait to get stuck into. I like that the plot leads up to one major secret or twist which unfolds as the story develops and you learn more and more about each character.
Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert – I loved the film and have been wanting to pick up the book for a while now. I was donating a couple of old books when I noticed this in the window and I snapped it up straightaway. A story about self-discovery on a search for happiness – one of my favourite kinds of stories to read.
The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck by Sarah Knight – I love Sarah’s style of self help books, they give me the kick up the butt I need to knuckle down and sort my life out. After finishing Get Your Sh*t Together I picked up this one because I need a push in the right direction and I need to remember to focus my energy on things that really matter.
The Wonder by Emma Donoghue – I actually intended to pick up Emma’s first novel Room but they didn’t have it so after a quick skim of the blurb, I picked this up instead. Described as a thrilling psychodrama of historical fiction exploring religion in Ireland in the 19th Century. Thrillers are my favourite books to read and I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about this particular author so I cannot wait to get stuck in.
It’s All In Your Head by Rae Earl – If you haven’t watched My Mad Fat Diary then you have totally missed out, it was one of my favourite shows and I was devastated when they announced that season 3 would be the final series with only 3 episodes. So when this popped up as recommended to me on Amazon I picked up it almost straightaway. Another self help style book about mental health and getting your head together which is exactly what I need right now.
