Subscription boxes are the perfect way to try out a handful of new products from brands which you may or may not have heard of before. I spent most of my teenage years subscribed to some kind of subscription box favouring Birchbox and Glossybox over all the rest. When I made the decision to become cruelty free I spent hours and hours searching for information online about brands testing policies and their parent companies – often finding the information very vague if even available at all. When researching beauty boxes I did come across The Vegan Kind and The Pip Box who both offer completely vegan friendly and cruelty free beauty box subscriptions but in terms of mainstream there wasn’t much else available in the UK.
At the moment there is a lot of buzz around cruelty free beauty with more and more people looking to support brands with a more ethical and sustainable approach. When Glossybox announced the release of their Vegan limited edition box this offered the perfect introduction for anybody thinking about converting to a more animal friendly lifestyle. Unlike the monthly boxes, inside this one off box you will find seven full sized products and three deluxe mini’s with a combined worth of over £80! Subscribers can snap this box up for only £25 or you can make a one off purchase of £30 + postage and packaging. Inside the box you will find:
- Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Deluxe Mini (0.2ml)
- Pure Chimp Matcha Tea (20g)
- Noughty to the Rescue Anti-Frizz Serum (75ml)
- So Eco Eye Shading Brush
- Tropical Skincare Lip Fudge in Rosewood (10ml)
- Maria Nila Head & Hair Heal Masque (250ml)
- Dr Organic Vitamin E Super Hydrating Cream (50ml)
- Tints of Nature Hydrate Shampoo Deluxe Mini (10ml)
- Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil Deluxe Mini (10ml)
- Original Source Foaming Shower Gel (180ml)
When you consider that the Maria Nila masque is worth £26.99 on its own, the box is such good value for money while introducing you to some new brands you may have not heard of before. I love Noughty haircare but I am yet to try any of their serums so when I saw the anti frizz serum was included I was super excited. I’ve also been desperate to try anything from Tropical Skincare so I was stoked to find one of their lip fudge’s on the menu. The Kat Von D tattoo liner is the only liquid eye liner I use so having a mini version will be perfect for my travel makeup bag and I enjoyed the addition of a foaming shower gel as I just finished the one I was recently using.
Overall I think the box has a good mixture of products and brands with a nice little lifestyle addition in the form of the Pure Chimp Matcha Tea. With great value for money, this box is the perfect introduction to the world of cruelty free and vegan beauty and I hope to see many more limited edition boxes like this in the future.
