Beauty boxes are my absolute guilty pleasure and I usually don’t go a month or two without picking one up. Since going cruelty free I haven’t actually picked up any beauty boxes apart from the Glossybox Vegan Limited Edition box but I’ve done some research and found quite a few to try out so I thought I would make my way through them before choosing one to commit to. If you are thinking about going cruelty free then subscribing to a beauty box is the perfect way to try out some new brands and products plus its a nice little gift to receive every month.
For this month I opted for the Edition 13 of the Pure Natural Box. Pure Natural Box was founded in 2015 by Rebecca Lannon as a quarterly green discovery box containing natural and organic products which are paraben and cruelty free. This luxury beauty and lifestyle box contains 6 products which are usually full sized or deluxe travel minis allowing you to really test the products and get a feel for them. The September 2018 edition is worth over £69 with the Ellie & Carl Serum worth nearly £31 alone (€35). Inside the box you will find:
– Ellie & Carl Skin Botanicals Balance Facial Serum (35ml)
– Eco Straws Stainless Steel Drinking Straws & Cleaning Brush
– Bondi Wash Sydney Peppermint & Rosemary Handwash (125ml)
– Bondi Wash Tasmanian Pepper & Lavender Bench Spray (125ml)
– The Dartmoor Skincare Co Hand & Nail Cream (50ml)
– Biomed Superwhite Coconut Natural Toothpaste (15ml)
– Green People Quinoa & Artichoke Shampoo (5ml)
What drew me to this box above the rest was the ethics behind the brand. Rebecca chooses to support a lot of small businesses and you will often find a lot of UK based brands within the box. Pure, natural and organic products are trending in the beauty world and Rebecca’s carefully curated box contains a whole host of green products which have been tried and tested. One of the biggest drawbacks of mainstream beauty boxes is the repetition from month to month and the lack of variety in the products chosen. Pure Natural Box features different products every time so you won’t find yourself bombarded with hand creams or nail varnishes.
I really enjoyed the lifestyle additions in the box as it mixed things up and also made me think a lot more about the products I use in everyday life. We have two house cats and so I am very conscious about how many different chemicals I am using around the home as they do love to explore absolutely everywhere! I loved the Bondi Wash Bench Spray which smells absolutely I-N-S-A-N-E but I love even more that I don’t have to worry about any added nasties near my little fur babies.
Another hot topic at the moment is sustainability and I have been searching for more ways to reduce my single use plastic consumption. Re-usable straws are something I have been meaning to pick up for a while so I was very pleased to see a pack of four inside the box with a cleaning brush included. I also loved their values around using recycled and biodegradable packaging. The boxes are 100% recyclable and the shredded paper, postage label and information card are all made from recycled card or paper. The presentation box is reusable around the home or you can choose to exclude the box from your order and receive a 10% discount as a reward. Beauty boxes are hard to curate when you have so many people to please but I think Pure Natural Box have nailed it and I will definitely be watching out for the next one.
The boxes are released quarterly and retail at £25 with an additional £3.95 postage. If you fancy picking up this box they are still available online and make sure you sign up to the mailing list so you don’t miss out on the next one.
