Lush | Granny Takes A Dip

I recently saw someones post about this ballistic on Instagram and instantly I knew I had to get my hands on it as soon as possible! Lush has fast become my favourite store and I seem to spend hours in there sniffing everything and snooping around to see whats new…I’m pretty much a regular now! I love the fact everything is handmade with only natural ingredients used as it means I can pretty much use anything from lush without having to worry about my overly sensitive skin.

The first thing I noticed about this ballistic is the smell – with a mix of ginger, pepper and lemon strangely this holds a strong resemblance to sherbert. Although very sweet, the smell is comforting with a soft, warming, citrus scent in the background. Next thing is without a doubt the brightness – so much so you almost need sunglasses to stare at this psychedelic bomb! The colours used are bright and vivid with a fluorescent pink exterior, followed by a baby blue and deep cherry red middle and a bright green centre. I also feel I need to comment on the size of this ballistic as it literally is the size of my hand: you definitely wouldn’t be able to walk past this in lush without taking a second look.

I dropped the bomb into my warm running bath and watch as it slowly fizzed around with the extraordinary colours erupting from all angles. The bomb sits on the surface of the water so you can watch as the streams of each colour begin pouring out. Eventually after several minutes, once the ballistic is completely dissolved, the bath is left a stunning violet-y, pink-y colour leaving you to relax and unwind in a bath fit for a princess. There is a subtle peppery fragrance to this bomb with a very warming and uplifting scent leaving me very refreshed and relaxed afterwards.

Overall I would recommend this ballistic to anybody who loves colourful, unique bath bombs. My only gripe was the scent didn’t last very long but then I am not a fan of overpowering smells so I still thoroughly enjoyed my relaxing bath and my skin is so, so soft now. You could easily split this bath bomb and use for two baths at just £3.35 its an utter bargain!

What Lush bath bombs have you tried recently?
