Shopping the stash this Festive Season

With December right around the corner it’s not long before Christmas Party Season is in full force. This year I am making a conscious effort to really think about my own fashion habits before making any purchases and I’ve limited myself to 3 new pieces of fast fashion for the A/W Season as I try and attempt to embrace slow styling. Of course this just so happened to coincide with the first year I have an office Christmas Party to attend as well as several other festive activities so naturally the panic of what to wear has already started setting in. I’ve dug to the far depths of my wardrobe where no human has ever been before and dug out some old pieces which can definitely be given a new lease of life this Christmas. I’ve put together a little Christmas party edit but instead of the hottest drops in the shops, its from my wardrobe to encourage you to try shopping the stash before splashing the cash!

Whether you are into super sparkly or a an understated LBD the best part about Christmas Party is that pretty much anything goes. Whether you wanna resemble the disco ball or just dance underneath it, I bet you’ve already got that dress that makes you feel like a million dollars every-time you wear it. Mine is a simple lurex dress with subtle cut out’s which is flawlessly understated but also the perfect amount of sparkle for even the smallest Christmas party. Plus the stretchy material mean there is a lot of room for food babies which is inevitable around this time of year. I plan to dress mine down with ankle boots and tights so I don’t feel too overdressed.

Christmas day in my family is quite a relaxed affair with us barely making it out of pyjamas most years. We do always get dressed to eat our christmas dinner but this is more of a casual occasion so pretty much anything goes. I’m obviously going to wear my jeans because let’s be honest what else would I wear, and I want a nice simple blouse to pair them with. When shopping the stash I stumbled across a gorgeous deep red blouse with flutter sleeves and gold embroidery which is perfect for christmas day adding a little touch of festive glamour to a casual outfit.

Nothing says sophisticated and chic like a two piece suit. I love this option because it can be dressed up or down and you can wore the pieces separately or together depending on the look you are going for. If you want to make a real statement opt for a block colour and then pair with simple accessories. When rooting through my wardrobe I spotted a bottle green two-piece which I actually picked up in the Primark sale a few years ago for less than £20 and had never worn. I recently wore this on a trip to London because with minimal effort needed you can pull off a fashionista vibe but you could easily dress up with a cami and some courts for an evening event.

So those are my festive outfit choices from shopping the stash, why not shop yours and see what you can find!
