![Sleeve drama is the only kinda drama I want in my 30s ✨
One of the problems with ordering fabric without a specific project in mind means when I do finally decide on a pattern, I’m pretty restricted on how much fabric I have to play with. This means I often have to adapt my plans to get the look I want with what I’ve got. This was my first attempt at the #M7969 which was supposed to be the dress version. I quickly realised I hadn’t ordered enough fabric for those ginormous sleeves! I can see this fast becoming one of my favourite patterns and I’ve already got another two versions planned out from my stash!

![Next month marks one year since I first started sewing my own clothes and I’m finally starting to feel a bit more confident with my makes. I’ve stopped rushing through each project and really slowed down to focus on the details. To celebrate my one year sew-versary I wanted to challenge myself, so I opted for a pattern I’ve made before but with some tweaks compared to my first one.
This dress was a true labour of love and would you believe it’s the first dress I’ve made with pockets!! I’ll be adding pockets to everything from here on in because what’s a girl to do without somewhere to store her snacks? Plus this print is absolutely gorgeous and I’m so glad I can finally wear a me-made dress in this gorgeous fabric rather than just staring at it longingly amongst my stash! Now we just need summer to put in a re-appearance so I have an excuse to wear it..

![All dressed up with nowhere to go ✨
Although the world is slowly starting to open I’m still feeling slightly apprehensive at jumping back into everyday life so I’m taking a slower approach. However, this hasn’t stopped me sewing up some special pieces ready for when I am feeling more up to regular life. This season of the Sewing Bee really inspired me to sew up pieces I want in my wardrobe regardless of if I actually have anywhere to wear them yet. Life’s too short to wear boring clothes!
I was feeling so inspired by @serenasews_ winter dress I rummaged in my stash and found this gorgeous bark tencel which was actually one of the first pieces of fabric I ever bought when I first started my dressmaking journey last year. I’ve been hoarding it, too scared to cut into it in case I ruin it. But, after seeing @bygraciesteel #M7969Hack I just couldn’t get the idea out of my head. I’m so glad I took the plunge because this dress turned out even better than I imagined, and with tights and a slip dress underneath it’s going to be the perfect staple to see me through the party season.
This is my first entry for #SewLamaziForGBSB and I’ve got two more to come. I was really inspired to start using up my stash and creating some pieces I’ve been dreaming about for a while. This also doubles as my entry for this weeks #SewingBeeStyleWeek7 for Winter Week.

![Although the sunshine seems to have disappeared, I’m still well and truly in summer sewing mood! I’m really enjoying sewing up all the floaty, summer dresses and the #TammyHandmadeRhea has become a firm favourite. I purposely chose a darker fabric so I can wear this both in Summer and Autumn with tights and a roll neck.
This make was anything but smooth sailing (completely down to me not paying attention, not the pattern). This is actually my third rendition of this dress after some silly mistakes meant I had to unpick everything twice!! I was just about ready to give up and chuck this in the scraps pile when I decided to give it one final go. I’m so glad I didn’t give up because the end result is so pretty and I can’t wait to wear this sipping a cocktail on the beach when we’re ready to start travelling again.
